It’s that time of year again; the Waterloo Regional Karting Club is preparing to host its 34th Annual Oktoberfest Grand Prix Thanksgiving weekend – beginning with practice on Friday afternoon, October 9th and racing Saturday October 10th. Keeping with karting tradition, the Oktoberfest Grand Prix is one the largest four-cycle karting events in Canada.
Included in this year’s event we have 9 classes on the board which is sure to produce some intense and exciting racing. There are 7 Honda Classes – Cadet, Novice, Jr Lite, Jr Heavy, Sr Lite, Sr Heavy & Masters classes. As well as the up and coming Jr & Sr Briggs classes which will run under the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship series rules.
There will be prizes for all registered drivers, cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 drivers in each class, as well as trophies for the top 5 drivers in each class. And this year, there will be a $100 cash prize to the fastest qualifiers in each class.
On top of all that, we will two Mechanic’s Races – First Mechanics race will include all drivers with race experience and a second Mechanics Race for all drivers without race experience. And of course, the exciting Powder Puff race will take place. These three racing events will have a $10 entrance fee to participate. Sure to be an exciting day of racing for all.
