Team News: Goodwood Kartways/Intrepid Canada at Ron Fellows Karting Challenge

Goodwood/Intrepid returns to Mosport Kartways this weekend for the third round of the Champion Ron Fellows Karting Challenge and if the last event is any indication, the team will be itching to get back on track. At Mosport starting the month with event two of the series, the team produced five wins and thirteen podium results, including clean sweeps of all three podium spots in both Briggs & Stratton Junior and Junior Light!

“We had strong results from our youngest drivers, and that was great to see,” said Goodwood /Intrepid Team Manager Marco Di Leo. “We’ve grown accustomed to seeing our veteran senior drivers put in consistently strong results, but when we see the kids on the podium and winning races beyond the club level at events like the Champion Ron Fellows Karting Challenge we get excited for them, and excited for the karting future. Briggs Junior and Junior Light had large fields at Mosport, so racing up front is a great achievement for those drivers and they should feel really proud of what they’ve accomplished.”

Gianluca Savaglio, Mark Davis and Kai Dalziel produced the Intrepid one-two-three sweep of the podium in Junior Light, while Tanner Hamilton, Khloe Drummond, Tyler McCullough and Gavin Sanders went one spot deeper in Junior Heavy, locking up the top four spots. Other Intrepid class wins came from Russell Boyle in Rotax Junior, Alex Mankovski in Rotax Masters and Tyler Kashak in Rotax DD2. Top-Five results from Intrepid drivers at Race 2 can be seen below.

The strong showing also creates strong championship standing, and through two of four events a number of Intrepid drivers are in championship contention. Savaglio, Hamilton, Boyle, Mankovski and Kashak each lead their respective classes overall and many others are in top-three positions as they return to race this weekend.

Mosport Kartways is becoming a second home for Intrepid drivers as after the second round of the CRFKC August 2nd and the third round this coming weekend, the Goodwood/Intrepid National team sets up shop at Canada’s Home of Motorsports for the 2015 Canadian National Karting Championships running August 20-23.
