This morning we have been informed of a very special event.
Following a very serious workplace injury, Mike Martin, father of karting start Kris Martin, is on the long road to recovery. To support the high costs of his recovery, a golf tournament and silent auction have been announced.
Taking place on September 28 at the Flamborough Hills Golf and Country Club, the special day will go a long way in helping fund Mike’s recovery.
Mike is a valued part of the Ontario karting community, supporting his son’s racing career for over a decade and volunteering many hours of his time at the Waterloo Regional Kart Club, while supporting his son’s racing across Ontario.
Mike Martin and his family have had to deal their fair share of life’s challenges, none greater however than this past June when Mike suffered serious injuries in a workplace accident. Initially Mike’s fight was for his life and after several surgeries he is now stable and in a recovery stage but the most critical aspect of his recovery is the brain trauma from the accident.
Doctors have prepared the family for a long rehabilitation period he is expected to be in Hospital up to a year and rehab for many more there after.
Needless to say his journey to good health is not a certainty and will require great sacrifices particularly from his family Kim, Krista and Kristopher.
Registration is open for the golf tournament, via the Mike Martin Benefit website. Tickets for the silent auction are also available for purchase at $25.00 each.
