Rotax Pan Am: Jack Weprin leads the way in Rotax Junior

Official day two of the 2012 Rotax Pan American Championship Finals held at The Track at Centennial in Colorado, USA saw each class have three important rounds of heat races to determine the starting order for Sunday’s events. It was another beautiful day at Centennial as blue skies and a nice breeze kept the conditions near perfect.

The action in the Rotax Junior class has been intense, with many drivers having at least one bad heat. This has opened up the results and allows Jack Weprin (FA Kart/USA) and Gavin Reichelt (TonyKart/USA) tied for the top spot. With Weprin having the better qualifying result, he will start on the pole position for Sunday’s pre final with Reichelt alongside. Jake Craig (Kosmic/USA) will start third after going 0-8-3 in his three heats, while Kyle Kirkwood (Arrow/USA) starts from the outside of row two. A great run in heat three to finish second, Ashley Rogero (TonyKart/USA) will start fifth.

Canadian’s Anthony Tolfa (TonyKart) and Jeffrey Kingsley (Birel) had very eventful day’s in the heat races, with both being collected in a number of incidents. Tolfa was able to rebound and will start from eleventh, while Kingsley is a little further down in fifteenth.

Sunday will see drivers hit The Track at Centennial for a pre-final and a winner take all final race in the afternoon.
