Rain Once Again Affects Florida Winter Tour

Mother Nature continues to plague the 2016 Sofina Foods Florida Winter Tour presented by FIKSE Wheels. Heavy rain, track flooding and high winds forced series officials to postpone Friday’s Qualifying and first round of Heat Races at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

All seven Rotax Max classes completed two rounds of practice in the morning until heavy rainfall interrupted the third practice session. With no sign of the rain stopping and many portions of the track under water, officials were left with no option but to cancel the rest of the day.

This is the second straight weekend that the Florida Winter Tour has been affected by large amounts of rainfall in Homestead, leaving both the track and paddock in a big mess.
