This weekend at Goodwood Kartways a very special race event is being held to help raise funds for the Racing With Autism program; a one-hour team enduro race. With the Racing With Autism program planning a North American Tour for 2015, all proceeds will help towards making the tour happen.
Pitting professionals versus amateur kart racers, a 60-minute rental kart race will hit the track, where all drivers will utilize the Goodwood Kartways arrive and drive karts.
The race will take place following the TRAK club race at Goodwood on Saturday September 27 with practice kicking off at 4:00PM and the race scheduled to start at 4:30PM. A BBQ will close out the days events.
There are a few spots left for those interested in entering. Teams can be up to four drivers, and a maximum of 18 teams will be able to compete. The cost of entry is $400.00/team.
“The proceeds from this event will go towards The Racing With Autism ‘Awareness Tour of North America’. Austin and the team will be racing at tracks all over North America beginning in March 2015. While racing they will be going into schools in the area sharing Austin’s story and providing the students with a presentation about Autism awareness and anti-bullying. Your participation in this event will go a long way in helping them raise enough funding to accomplish this incredible journey!” – Jason Riley.
The race has gained some serious media coverage with the likes of CityTV and the Toronto Star having staff compete in the event.
In fact, CKN will be entering a team of drivers for this event as well, with CKN’s own Cody Schindel returning to the drivers seat.
So common out to Goodwood Kartways on Saturday September 27 and support a great cause and what will surely be an entertaining race!
