Racing Edge Motorsports Starts the MRFKC Season with 19 Drivers

Racing Edge Motorsports is excited to start the 2022 Canadian karting season with a full stable of racers ahead of the opening round of the Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship at the Mosport Karting Centre.

With a number of regular team members welcoming a handful of newcomers, the Kosmic Kart race team has 19 drivers that will make up 22 entries and cover nearly every category taking to the track this weekend. With the Mosport circuit being a second home for the REM team, expectations are high ahead of the first major race of the season.

REM looks to pack a punch in the ROK Senior division this weekend with an enormous 11 eleven drivers taking to the grid. Team regulars Adam and Daniel Ali, and Gianluca Savaglio are back for another season while REM newcomers Nalin Shah, Yuchen Ye, Mathieu Cousineau, Mackenzie Milwain, and Eric Kunz have already made their first starts with the team through numerous international races. Ari Korkodilos has added Rok Senior to his Briggs Senior duties, while Chris Chanko is back in a kart after a few years off. Tawfiq Najjar is also back under the team tent this weekend.

Notably, the Ali brothers of Adam and Daniel will continue to pull double-duty, but they have traded in their Briggs karts for Rok Shifter karts and will be grabbing gears competitively for the first time this weekend in addition to their Rok Senior duties.

REM is excited to welcome two new Rok Junior drivers this weekend. In April, Anthony Martella joined the team at the SKUSA WinterNationals and is ready to make his Canadian Rok debut while Ryan Maxwell has joined and is ready for his second season of Rok Junior competition.

Rounding out the team for this weekend at Mosport is Brazilian Matheus Ramalho in Mini Rok, Kyle Davis and Ryder Hare in Briggs Junior, Christian Damianidis in Briggs Cadet and Ben Leinweber in Briggs Senior.

Many of the team’s drivers have been using the opening few club races at Mosport to prepare the MRFKC and that gives team manager Kevin Monteith confidence in his squad ahead of their first big test of the season.

“As 2022 begins we are really looking forward to the start of the Canadian season strong. This weekend, it will be important for our drivers to have a good start to the season and stamp their names at the top of the result sheets. A lot of our drivers have had the opportunity to travel stateside this winter with us so I feel that this will give them a solid foundation to build on throughout the year.”
