Having a passion for the Micro-Max division and helping to develop talent at it’s youngest ages, LP Gelinas of PSL Karting Montreal has once again stepped up to provide an excellent opportunity for Micro-Max racers. From March 3 to 7, PSL Karting Montreal and LP will host the first annual Micro-Max Spring Break Race Camp at the Orlando Karting Center is sunny Florida, USA.
“I started this last summer with five drivers, giving them the opportunity to practice race starts, drafting and hard braking, all in a mock race environment,” explains LP. “But working with my driver Patrick Woods-Toth at the Rotax Pan Am and Rotax Grand Finals Invitational, racing with 30 drivers was not only a great experience, but an incredible training ground!”
“I also can see this at the Florida Winter Tour events, that is why we say that young drivers racing the FWT get the extra edge!”
So LP went to work to plan the race camp. Selecting the Orlando Karting Center was a bit of a no brainer as the Florida Winter Tour will host two races there in the weeks following the camp, giving many drivers who plan to race, the chance to get there early and ahead of the big show that is the FWT.
The race camp will cover areas such as doing a proper track walk, body position, race line, maximum
braking, race starts, passing, aspiration, race tactics, winning races and much more.
Hoping to draw drivers from Canada and the USA, as well as other countries, the camp is open to any Micro-Max racer. Drivers will need to supply their own chassis and engine, and the cost is $100.00/day for the camp, plus a $55.00 track access pass.
“The camp is open to all Micro max drivers with some race experience, all brands, all teams!”
As the number of drivers who commit go up, so will the hiring as LP has promised one instructor for every four drivers in attendance, giving drivers plenty of attention.
For those drivers interested, they are asked to RSVP with LP Gelinas by either email, lpgelinas@pslmontreal.com or by phone, +1.514.641.5278.
There will also be the opportunity to test the new 2014 CRG Hero chassis. Contact LP for more information.
