For the 2015 season the managers at ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec, along with PSL Montreal have come together to develop a new competition karting track layout, and to do so they worked with two very well know motorsports identities.
Three-time Rotax Grand Finals Champion Ben Cooper along with Julien Jousse, a formula car veteran with experience that includes racing at Le Mans, presented their ideas to help develop the track layout that best suits developing drivers and creating great racing. Working with portions of the previous design, the updates give a much more flowing layout that also includes plenty of opportunity to pass.
Ben Cooper, DD2 World Champion: “We have built this track to allow a lot of overtake space to make the races more interesting. This course is utterly challenging and generates great battles, yet very fun to drive.”
Julien Jousse, ICAR Academy Director: “This karting centre reflects modernity by its new material, and it complements the already existing ICAR complex. The racing community will surely benefits from this innovative course.”
Marc Arseneau, CEO of ICAR Experience: “ ICAR Karting will have a major role in developing this sport in Québec by giving birth to the racing careers of young Canadian drivers and allowing them to compete internationally.
The season at ICAR will begin this coming weekend.
