Yesterday rumours broke that American driver Kyle Kirkwood, 2016 Florida Winter Tour Champion in both Rotax Max and Vortex ROK Senior, had parted ways with the Ocala Gran Prix race team after many years and championships together.
Well it didn’t long for Kirkwood to surface with a new race team as today it has been announced by PSL Karting that Kirkwood will compete with the Birel ART race team for the remainder of the season, joining his former teammate Oliver Askew in the process.
Although the timeline was too short to have Kirkwood compete this weekend at the US Open of New Orleans, his duties with the race team will start at the SKUSA Pro Tour in Phoenix, Arizona next weekend along with the remainder of the US Open and SKUSA Pro Tour Championships along with his defence of the US Rotax Grand National title.
“We are very pleased to have Kyle on board with our team. He is sure to add value to our existing program and work with our clients and Birel ART to develop our product further.” said Dominic Labrecque of PSL Karting.
