Great racing is what all the spectators have come to expect from all of Waterloo Regional Kart Club classes. If you just looked at the finishing order for the first 4 races in the Junior Light class you wouldn’t necessarily think that is the case. Ciarra Collison started race day 5 on a 4 race winning streak, but Aaron Turnbull has always been right there challenging for lead on the last lap. Collison’s winning streak came to an end with Turnbull taking the victory in Race 5. Turnbull started the final on the pole, and led the first 3 laps, Collison managed to take the lead on lap 4 but Turnbull was back out in front on lap 7 and managed to hang on for his first win of the year.
Not everyone can win, but no one went home hungry as the club held their annual picnic. Roasted Pork sandwiches, and fresh cut french fries were provided by the VanWyngaarden family. Club members supplied the salads and desserts. Everyone went home happy after a great day of racing and the chance to spend some time with all their friends and competitors.
