Members of the Waterloo Regional Kart Club gathered together to celebrate the conclusion of another great season of racing, and it was quite the celebration. Every driver received a Driver Suit bag, over 130 trophies were handed out, and every driver went home with a door prize. Everyone enjoyed the great food, and the dancing continued until the well after mid-night.
The highlight of the evening for our 2013 class champions was receiving their champion’s jackets and trophies. It was a very competitive season in every class and the champions had their work cut out for them, it takes speed and consistency to win a championship in a 14 race season. The champion in the Cadet class was Liam Rhodes, In the Novice class it was Tyson Wassink leading the way. The junior light class was on one of the closest battles, with Andrew Whelan being claimed the winner. In Junior Heavy Austin Bisschop claimed the championship. The senior medium trophy and jacket winner was Tristan Gill. The Masters class

In addition there were trophies for rookie of the year, best appearing kart, and most sportsman like driver in every class. The club also presented a number of special awards, although all the winners are worthy of recognition we can’t possibly list them all here.
The club executive has already started planning for the 2014 season. The club will be releasing the 2014 season schedule in early January. The first event of the year will be our annual Trade Show and Flea Market which will be held in February, for information about the Waterloo Regional Kart Club please visit our website at www.wrkc.on.ca.
