After pulling off 3 consecutive pole qualifying sessions in Honda Senior Lite, Medium and Heavy, Jon Treadwell proved to be the guy to beat, this past weekend at Innsifil BSRKC, on his MSM powered K&K Cobra OTB kart.
On Saturday, Treadwell from the pole, won the prefinal and drove away unchallenged in the final for the win in Honda Senior Medium.
Sunday proved to be a little tougher. In Senior Heavy, again from the pole, Treadwell after leading the majority of the race, diced with T.J. Marshall, who slipped by on the last lap and finished with a drag race to the flag. Treadwell had to settle for second in Hvy.
Senior Lite, again from the pole looked promising, as he won the prefinal unchallenged. The final saw some aggressive driving send Treadwell wide, and back to 11th on the 1st lap. By lap 14, a shunt with the 3 front runners of Montieth, Glaze and Riberdy, saw Treadwell slip by them all and open up a 5 kart lead. Unfortunately, another unrelated incident, saw an injured driver bring out a red flag. This resulted in reverting to the previous lap results. Jamie Riberdy was awarded the win, just a scant 6/100 at the line over Treadwell.
Team owner, Kevin Barrick was very pleased with the results. Jon, with a little luck could have won all 3 classes given the pace he and his K&K kart had all weekend, he added. Barrick was also thankful to Maurice Bachand of MSM Motorsports, for supplying incredible Honda power.
Jon Treadwell looks forward to the next BSRKC race at Leamington, and having an equally successful weekend.
