PR: Pserra Racing and TonyKart Kart Success at ECKC Opener

logo-pserraWith the Canadian karting season now well underway, it was time for the opening round of the ultra competitive Eastern Canadian Karting Championship (ECKC). With the first event taking place at the fast and challenging Mosport International Karting facility near Bowmanville, Ontario, Pserra branded pilots and Tony Kart drivers would flex their muscles scoring race wins and podium results along the way as they began their quest for ECKC championship titles Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final berths.

“It is always good to start a new series off strong,” explained Pserra Racing’s Rich Hibbs. “Several of our drivers under the team tent did just that and several other Tony Kart pilots from our dealership teams had great success. It is a testament to how strong the Tony Kart package truly is. Also, Tony Kart drivers battled challenging conditions as weather was constantly changing and the chassis performed as expected.”

Antonio Serravalle and JP Hutchison would be Pserra Racing’s entries in the Rotax Mini Max division with both drivers taking home a victory. Serravalle remained true to his form shown earlier at this year at the Florida Winter Tour by sweeping Saturday’s on track action. Sunday would see the young hot shoe claim the pole position and heat race win, but fall one position in the main event to teammate and fellow Tony Kart driver JP Hutchison. Both drivers started their 2013 ECKC campaign off strong with first and second place results and will be tough to beat in the remainder of the series.

Rotax Junior standouts Jeffrey Kingsley and Davide Greco battled at the front of the stout field of junior competitors throughout the weekend. Greco would be the more consistent of the two drivers claiming a fourth place result on Saturday after an incredible drive in the wet. Bettering his finish Sunday to come home third, Greco proved to be strong in the class. Kingsley had a disappointing Saturday as he was plagued by electrical issues that would see him mired down in the 14th position at the end of the main event. The young talent would rebound for Sunday sweeping the day’s wheel-to-wheel action by scoring the pole position, prefinal win and main event victory.

Juliano Romagnuolo would be the lone Pserra Racing entrant in the Rotax Senior category as he looked to gain experience by racing with some of the top karters from Ontario and Quebec. Finishing 21st on Saturday, the Pserra Racing driver would improve seven positions in Sunday’s wet main event to cross the stripe 14th.

Hibbs continued, “Everyone at Pserra Racing would also like to congratulate all the Tony Kart drivers and their teams for the great results over the weekend.”
