With the next rounds of the 2013 Northern Ontario Karting Championship (NOKC) nearing closer, series officials are reminding karters to put the special event on their racing calendar. Set for July 13-14 at the Shannonville Motorsport Park, the doubleheader weekend is sure to offer participants a weekend of great racing action at the famed Shannonville venue.
Dubbed the 2013 NOKC Grand National Shannonville, the third and fourth rounds of the series will offer a multitude of class options. Rotax drivers will have the opportunity to complete two necessary qualifying races for the upcoming Canadian Karting Championships, with shifters and four-stroke classes also taking to the unique and challenging Shannonville circuit.
Classes will be offered as follows:
Saturday Classes
125cc Shifter, Rotax DD2, Rotax Senior, Rotax Masters, Rotax Junior, Rotax Mini Max, Rotax Micro Max, Novice, Junior Lite, Junior Heavy, Senior Lite and Senior Heavy
Sunday Classes
125cc Shifter, Rotax DD2, Rotax Senior, Rotax Masters, Rotax Junior, Rotax Mini Max, Rotax Micro Max, Novice, Junior Briggs, Senior Briggs, Junior Medium, Master Honda
All Rotax classes must utilize Mojo tires and Shell 91 fuel, while all remaining classes must run Vega Blue tires. Fuel for Shifters is either MS98 or C12, with MS98 fuel available at the track – please see Tony Launi to obtain this fuel. Four-stroke classes will be running regular fuel sold at the gas station near the Shannonville facility. Practice day is also set for Friday, July 12.
Also up for grabs at the 2013 NOKC Grand National Shannonville will be race day cash prizes, with $500 split among the top three finishers in classes that meet a ten-entry minimum, with $1000 split among the 125cc Shifter class provided it meets the same ten-entry minimum.
