After pulling off a miracle weekend by winning all 3 Briggs LO206 classes at the last ECKC event of 2013 at Mt. Tremblant, Team K&K picked up where they left off, and had another phenomenal weekend at the 2014 ECKC season opener, at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park Karting Centre, this past weekend.
With very strong fields and great racing in all the Briggs L0206 classes, Team K&K once again managed to top the podium in all classes over the course of the weekend. The end result is, Team K&K heads to Goodwood ECKC leading the series points in Junior and Masters, and a very close second in Senior.
The new 2014 K&K Version 5 Cobra OTB performed flawlessly for the team drivers all weekend, and the catch phrase “K&K IS BRIGGS LO206 RACING” was certainly prevalent all weekend, as K&K was all over the podium.
K&K Team owner Kevin Barrick, would like to thank the K&K drivers, Jon Treadwell, Andre Fiorini, Keith Barrick, Braxton Terry, Zach Latimer, Kyle Aulenback, Jared Vegter, Kevin May and Steve MacVoy for their effort and a successful weekend.
Barrick would also like to thank the Treadwell family, for the trackside support by their newly formed Ontario K&K dealership, Venom Racing Solutions (VRS), as well as all the K&K moms and dads.
A special thanks goes out to Lorne Kelly, who has secured some excellent K&K and ECKC event sponsors in the form of Charmwood Designer Homes, TekkHaus, Armadura/Nahanni Steel and Superior Walls. Lorne, who has been an instrumental part of K&K since it’s inception 5 years ago, has been very diligent in bringing “non racing” sponsors into the mix to support not only the K&K Team, but the ECKC Karting Series, as well.
On another note…Trevor Rancier, past K&K team driver and ASN Canadian National Briggs Junior Champion, will be retruning to action in Briggs Senior for the Goodwood ECKC and the ASN Canadian Nationals, teaming up with ECKC Series Champion Jon Treadwell.
