PR: Great Turnout at Canadian Karting Challenge and Innisfil Kart Club Spring General Meeting

After a successful Spring General Meeting for the Canadian Karting Challenge and Innisfil Kart Club (IKC), series and club organizers, as well as interested racers, are excited to get the upcoming karting season underway.  With 65 people in attendance at the March 9 meeting in Innisfil, participation is expected to be high in the six round Canadian Karting Challenge and the popular IKC.

“It was great to see everyone,” expressed Innisfil Indy’s Rose Launi. “We would like to thank you all for participating in the important informational meeting, and now we are all ready to get the karting season underway!”

Items discussed at the meeting included a generous prize package for the Canadian Karting Challenge.  The Senior 125cc Shifter class champion will receive a three-day test school at Skip Barber.  Also, the Junior competitor with the most points in all classes will win either a new chassis or funded ride at the SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Nevada this November.  The Senior competitor with the most points in all classes will also be able to choose from either a new chassis or a funded ride to the SuperNationals.

Additionally, each 2-cycle class with a minimum of ten entries will receive cash prizes of  $250 for first place, $150 for second, and $100 for third. If that weren’t enough, all classes on the championship podium (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will receive a trophy and champion jacket at the year-end banquet.

Registration for the Canadian Karting Challenge is $100 per race.  Racers can pre-register for only $85, a savings of $15.  Please check the www.nokc.ca website for the announcement of the registration deadline. For all non-IKC members, please note that if you would like to register your kart number, you must pay your first race fee of $85.  Race tires must be purchased through the series, and officials urge all competitors to order rain tires as soon as possible.
