PR: Pat’s Acres Racing Complex to Welcome New Rotax Can-Am ProKart Challenge

CanAm_Logo_RGBFollowing a successful weekend in British Columbia at the Greg Moore Raceway, the new Rotax Can-Am ProKart Challenge is embarking on its second event of the 2013 season. Returning back to the United States, the Rotax Max Challenge and Superkarts! USA regional program will visit the historic Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in Canby, Oregon. The tight confines of the 7/10-mile circuit have played host to some of the largest and most respected events in the past few decades, and will now welcome the Can-Am program to its list. The June 14-16 event will be presented by M Realty, a successful real estate business surrounding the Portland area.

Four tickets toward the 2013 Rotax Grand Finals are on the line in the championship chases in the top Rotax categories. The HoleShot Drive Systems Rotax Senior was the largest class of the opening weekend, and the Canby event is sure to see another big turnout. 2011 US Rotax Grand Nationals champion Stepanova Nekeel came away with one win and the championship lead. Canadian standout Chris Glover sits second with area hotshoe Andrew Zimmer sitting third. Luke Selliken won both main events in the CRG West Rotax Junior division at the first weekend, and has established a solid lead in the points. Coltin McCaughan leads the challengers with Florida driver Antoni Ptak sitting third in the standings. Joey Wimsett ran uncontested in the Maximum Velocity Performance DD2 category, but expects some challengers in Canby. Derek Wang was perfect in the Rolison Performance Group DD2 Masters class, outrunning Texan Brent Harper and Colorado driver Scott Falcone for both wins and the championship lead after one weekend.

Former US Rotax Grand Nationals champion Mike Daniel enjoyed his return to top-level racing with two victories north of the border in Rotax Masters. Corey Mitchell and Dayna Ward gave chase, and will attempt to stop Daniel’s streak. The Wicked Fabrication Mini Max class saw Sting Ray Robb sweep the event and score maximum points toward the championship, with two tickets awarded to the top two drivers at the end of the year. Trenton Sparks resides in the second spot with Jacob Blue Hudson in third. Two more tickets will be awarded in Neilton Racing Concepts Micro Max category with Canadian Marco Kacic leading the charge after the Chilliwack weekend. He leads Jordan Novota by 19 points as Arizona driver Diego LaRoque holds the third position.

The Canby weekend will feature a double race weekend for the Superkarts! USA categories after just one round of racing was scheduled for the inaugural Can-Am ProKart Challenge event in Canada. Joey Wimsett was the lone S1 Pro Stock Moto driver while Dalton Egger was perfect in the S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto division. Brandon Brock scored the victory in S4 Master Stock Moto category with Sara Brinkac running uncontested in the S5 Junior Stock moto class. More drivers are expected to take on the Pat’s Acres circuit, and the best shifterkart drivers in the Pacific Northwest.

The pre-registration deadline for the Rotax Can-Am ProKart Challenge event at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex is midnight on June 9. The series will be providing racers with a FREE Can-Am T-shirt with every entry for the Pat’s Acres event. SKUSA racers will have a pre-registration entry fee of $362 – including Friday practice, Saturday race fee, Sunday race fee, driver pit pass, and a new set of MG SK (White) race tires. Competitors will have the option to utilize the same set of tires for both days, but it is not mandatory. Rotax Max Challenge competitors will be provided one set of four tires for the event, with pricing per category available at the Rotax Can-Am ProKart Challenge registration link. Other information can also be found at the event page (http://www.rotaxcanamprokartchallenge.com/events/pats-acres.htm). The Rotax Can-Am ProKart Challenge will be providing a pig roast Friday night – June 14 – following the on-track practice action.
