Northern Ontario Karting Championship Adds to Championship Purse

By: NOKC.ca

After announcing their prize structure for the 2013 Northern Ontario Karting Championship (NOKC) back in January, series officials have added an additional prize offering to their lucrative prize structure.

In addition to offering race day cash prizes of $1000 split between the first, second and third place finishers for all classes provided the class reaches a ten entry minimum, the NOKC will also award an extra $5000 championship purse per class if the 2013 series entrant list tops 120 competitors. This $5000 will be divided between the first through tenth place finishers in the championship standings, with $2000 awarded to first place, $1000 to second, $750 to third, $500 to fourth, $250 to fifth and $100 to the sixth through tenth place finishers.

The championship podium finishers (places first through third) will also be awarded a championship jacket and trophy. The 125 Shifter class champion will also be awarded the option to choose between a cool $5000 cash or a funded ride with GP Canada under the team tent for the 2013 SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals. This lucrative and unprecedented championship prize structure will make the NOKC the place to race in 2013.

Classes offered in the 2013 NOKC include: Rotax Micro Max, Rotax Mini Max, Junior Rotax, Senior Rotax, Rotax DD2, Junior 125 Shifter, Senior 125 Shifter, Novice, Junior Lite 4-Stroke, Junior Heavy 4-Stroke, Senior 4-Stroke and Masters.

Offering something for every karter, the NOKC is a must for regional competitors. The 2013 NOKC is a Canadian Rotax Max Karting Championship qualifier for those needing to meet the three event eligibility requirement before the Canadian Nationals in August. The schedule will feature an exciting double-header event format at the famed Shannonville Motorsport Park in July, as well as four additional rounds at the Innisfil Indy facility to make up a six race championship. Be sure to put the 2013 NOKC series on your event calendar!

Additionally, the Innisfil Kart Club (IKC) is proud to announce a race day prize purse of $300 per class, provided the class reaches a ten entry minimum. The club will award $150 to first, $100 to second and $50 to third. IKC members will also be up for the 12-race championship prize purse, which will see $10 per entry/per race set aside for a championship jackpot. The championship winner, plus other competitors in placing positions (to be announced) will receive a pay out at the end of the season. To be eligible for the championship and money pay out, competitors must be a member of the Innsifil Kart Club.

IKC officials also have a date set for the upcoming Spring General Meeting. The meeting will take place at Grange Hall in Innisfil on Saturday, March 23 from 1:00-3:00 pm. More information can be found at www.innisfilkartclub.ca.
