Monaco de Trois-Rivières: Launch of the program of the 16th edition

Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières is back this year to present its 16th edition, which runs from 2014 July 31st to August 3rd. Still presented on le Grand Prix de Trois –Rivières circuit (GP3R ),

Be prepared to experience a unique event!

New from this year, Le Monaco takes place on the International scene with the presentation of event # 7 and # 8 of the American Championship “North East Rotax Championship.”
With the venue of this Championship , it’s between 50 and 75 additional drivers from the east coast of the United States whom are expected to attend that weekend, since Trois-Rivières is now a mandatory stop in their league ” has mentioned François Bellemare , president of the event ” We are where we wanted to be when we decided to move our event to the circuit of the GP3R.”

“We are very pleased to contribute to the development of this renowned International event that is the Monaco of Trois-Rivières by presenting, for the first time outside of United States, handles our championship,” said Tim Hannens , Director of the United States championship and now Director of ECKC in Canada.

More Drivers!

This year, there will be two different presentations for the program; Québec cup championship and Eastern Canada (ECKC). In both case, it will event # 5 and #6, “This is great news for us,” said Pierre Simard, General manager of the event “It’s really important for drivers to attend the event to be able to stand in their ranking points’’.

The Paul Cooke Award:

On Sunday afternoon, the organization will honor a builder of the karting event with the first Paul Cooke’s award. This award will be used to ‘’honor and perpetuate the memory of a man or a woman who has contributed to the excellence of that karting event; Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières.”Let’s remember that Paul Cooke has been involved in motorsports since 1957. He is vice president and director of ASN Canada FIA, in karting since 1990. Throughout his career, he has made an outstanding contribution to develop and maintain safety in motorsport in Canada. He was introduced to the Canadian motorsports Hall of Fame in 2011. Mr. Cooke has contributed very significantly to the development of Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières during the move of its operations in 2011.

In 2013, Le Monaco has established a registration record with 303 drivers. The goal this year is 350 drivers

Sunday, August 3rd, Mini Max and Micro Max winning drivers will be rewarded by a money award.

Three championships will be presented at this year’s Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières :

• August 2 : ​Event # 5 of the Quebec Cup and Eastern Canadian Championship
and event # 7 ” North East Rotax Championship ” ( U.S.)
• August 3rd:​Event # 6 of the Quebec Cup and Eastern Canadian Championship # 8 ” North East Rotax Championship ” ( U.S.)

Admission is always free on the site, as well as parking on Papineau Street, via De Laterrière street.
