The 2013 Florida Winter Tour is underway in Homestead, Florida, USA. This weekend see’s the Rotax Max Challenge divisions hitting the track at Homestead-Miami Speedway, all seeking valuable championship points and individual race glory. After a week’s worth of practice, Friday saw drivers have two separate qualifying sessions, setting the grids for both Saturday and Sunday’s pre finals and Last Chance races.
Nicholas Brueckner (Birel) took the pole-position for Sunday Mini Max Pre final as he posted a time of 50.051 seconds in the morning Qualifying session. Michael Benyahia (Tecno) took second in the session ahead of Canadian Antonio Serravalle (Tony Kart) while Mathias Ramirez (Tony Kart) was fourth in the session with Zach Holden (Top Kart) completing the top-five.
Brueckner doubled-up as he took the pole-position for Saturday’s action at Homestead in the afternoon session ahead this time ahead of Holden. Reigning Florida Winter Tour Micro Max Champion Joshua Sirgany (Tony Kart) qualified in the third position ahead of Anthony Gangi Jr. (TonyKart) who had a very successful Formula Kart round in the TaG Cadet category last weekend, while Benyahia claimed his second top-five of the weekend posting the fifth quickest time.
Giovanni Bromante
In Micro Max, Giovanni Bromante (Tony Kart) is on the Pole-Position for Sunday’s Pre final ahead of teamate Dylan Tavella (Tony Kart). Tyler Gonzalez (FA Kart) qualified in the third position with Derek Carmenate (Tony Kart) and Leonardo Rinaldi (Tony Kart) rounding out the top-five.
For Sunday Tavella would prevail over teammate Bromante for the Pole-position as Gonzalex once again qualified third. Guilherme Romano Peixoto (CRG) qualified fourth with a time of 53.561 seconds ahead of Sebastian Fernandez (Tony Kart) who posted a lap time of 53.574 seconds.
