FWT: Rubens Barrichello Holds Off Nelson Piquet Jr. for ROK Shifter Victory
The sun was shining as the racing portion of the Florida Winter Tour ROK Cup got underway as much warmer temperatures greeted those in attendance at the Orlando Kart Centre after a very chilly few days of testing.
While the category lost a few of the big names from the opening round in Homestead, the competition was still very stellar with the likes former Formula 1 drivers Rubens Barrichello (Ocala Gran Prix/TonyKart) and Nelson Piquet Jr. (Piquet Sports/TonyKart) at the wheel along with a handful of hopeful karters as well.
FWT: Kyle Kirkwood Now 3-for-3 in ROK Senior
The sun was shining as the racing portion of the Florida Winter Tour ROK Cup got underway as much warmer temperatures greeted those in attendance at the Orlando Kart Centre after a very chilly few days of testing.
After scoring a pair of victories last month in Homestead Florida’s Kyle Kirkwood (Ocala Gran Prix/TonyKart) continued his reign on the category in Orlando where he easily cruised to four-second victory in Saturdays Final.
After getting out front early from the pole-position he held off a pressuring Ryan Norberg (Checkered Flag/PCR) on the opening laps before building up a gap and never making a mistake en route to the checkered.

Florida Winter Tour Round Two Kicks Off This Weekend in Orlando
The 2015 Cold Stone Creamery Florida Winter Tour presented by MaxSpeed Group resumes this weekend for the second round of their three month championship, this time in the tourist destination of Orlando, Florida.
It has been a bitter cold week so far in Orlando with temperatures near freezing for those who have been out testing. Temps are expected to rise when the racing gets underway on Saturday and Sunday, but this still isn’t quite the weather most anticipate when travelling to the sunny south.
