We are trackside here in beautiful Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, host of this weekend’s Eastern Canadian Karting Championship season finale. Two action packed race days will lead up to the crowning of nine new ECKC Champions and four drivers earning invitations to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals to be a part of Team Canada!

Friendly Rivalry in Briggs & Stratton Masters Championship

One driver returned to the cockpit of go-kart mid-season of 2014, the other back in the saddle at the beginning of 2015. Two challengers from more than a decade ago renewed their rivalry on the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship battle grounds this season and after three rounds and six races, it all came down to the season finale in Mont-Tremblant.

Nepveu and Woods-Toth Score Race Victories; Lucente Verified as Mini-Max Champion

15-09-20-mini-max Following his DNF in the opening round all the way back in May at Goodwood, Stefano Lucente (Karts & Parts/CRG) went on a tear, winning three of the next five Eastern Canadian Karting Championship Mini-Max races, with a pair of runner-up efforts in the other two, to set himself to close out the championship in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Jeff Kingsley Completes Rotax DD2 Championship and Joins Team Canada; Luc Sauriol is DD2 Masters Champion

15-09-20-kingsley With six straight podium appearances is as many races, including four victories, Jeffrey Kingsley (PSL Karting/BirelART) was in the drivers seat for the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship Rotax DD2 title when the series travelled to Mont-Tremblant for the fourth and final round. With his closest rivals and fellow competitors also having earned their tickets to the Rotax Grand Finals through other events in the season, all that was left for Kingsley to join Team Canada was the running of the races. Samuel Lupien Confirms Rotax Junior Championship While Race for Second Gets Crazy

15-09-22-rotax-jr Following three excellent rounds of Eastern Canadian Karting Championship competition in which Samuel Lupien (SH Racing/FA Kart) secured three wins and six podiums out of six races, the championship was all but decided entering the final round in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. But with Lupien also securing the Canadian title and with it an invitation to the join Team Canada at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals earlier this summer, the race for the ECKC Rotax Junior vice-championship became that much more important with three drivers all having the chance to join Lupien on Team Canada. Championship Showdown in Rotax Senior Goes Down to the Wire

15-09-20-lupien Entering the final round of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec there was no serious battle in Rotax Senior for the position on Team Canada for the upcoming Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, instead, a head-to-head battle between two drivers, the veteran and the rookie, for the championship title. Marco Di Leo (Goodwood/Intrepid) was seeking his fourth Rotax Senior championship to go along with his 2015 Canadian Championship while the rookie, Cedrik Lupien (SH Racing/FA Kart), entered the weekend seeking some redemption after being forced to the sidelines in 2014 with a broken wrist following a testing accident.
