Eleven Canadians taking part in Rotax Pan American Championship Event in Colorado

This weekend, the MaxSpeed Group hosts its Rotax Pan American Championship Event, the final chance for drivers in North America to qualify for the 2012 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, to be held this year in Portimao, Portugal. The event is taking place at The Track at Centennial, near Denver, Colorado. Thus far, Team Canada has 13 drivers qualified to attend the Grand Finals, and will look to secure another four positions this weekend.

Eleven drivers from Canada are on pre-entry lists, seeking a win that will earn them an invitation to join Team Canada. Last year, Canadian drivers swept the seven tickets to the Grand Finals that were available when the event was held in New Castle, Indiana. And although there are only four available this year, Canadians are sizing up the challenge once again.

In the Rotax Senior division, five Canadians will take part as Pearce Herder (LH Kart), Kevin King (CRG), Marco Di Leo (Intrepid) and Luke Chudleigh (Maranello), and Max Preston are all preregistered on a 21-kart entry list.

Four more Canadians will take part in the Rotax DD2 class with Daniel Burkett (LH Kart), Tyler McEwan (CRG), Brendan Bain (Maranello) and Alessandro Bizzotto (CRG) in attendance.

Finally, two Rotax Junior drivers join the largest class of pre-registrations as Jeffrey Kingsley (Birel) and Anthony Tolfa (Maranello) will take on twenty-four other competitors in the winner-take-all event.

The event has drawn drivers from seven different countries as Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, USA and Venezuela have travelled to Colorado, with the USA having the most entries.

Canadian Karting News will be live on site at the event, providing updates, results, photo galleries and more all weekend long on their website and via social media outlets Facebook (http://facebook.com/canadiankartingnews) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/CKN_Live)

The event will also be broadcast live on the Kart Racing Network starting Saturday. KRN’s live streaming is currently unmatched in Karting. For more information, visit http://kartracingnetwork.com
