Starting from the pole-position, Zachary Claman Demelo (ZCD/PSL Karting/CRG) looked very focused and poised to improve on his third place result from Saturday’s competition. Making sure he got the start he wanted, he was able to take the lead into turn one, ahead of yesterdays winner Parker Thompson (SH Karting/TonyKart). The two were able to post fast laps early on in the race and Demelo even pulled a short gap on Thompson in the opening laps.
Behind, the battle for third was simply awesome! Gustavo Bandiera (PSL Karting/CRG) held the spot early, then Jeffery Kingsley (SRA Karting/Birel) took his turn in the final podium position, then Gavin Reichelt was able to muscle his way into the spot.
But up front, it was all Demelo, and even with a great charge by Thompson in the closing laps, and some very tight battling and blocking on the final lap, Demelo was able to hold on and take the victory. Thompson came home second, Reichelt third, Bandiera forth and Kingsley fifth.
Completing the top ten were Tyler Kashak (Intrepid), Marco Signoretti (Intrepid), Jordan Slipicoff (ZCD/TonyKart), Trevor Rancier (KnK Kart) and Olivier Bedard (SRA Karting/Birel), who started from the rear of the field.
