The second half of the double-header weekend at Mosport International Karting featured much nicer weather conditions for the opening round of the 2014 Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. With the rumble of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series roaring by on the CTMP track, Sunday was full of octane at the entire Mosport facility including excellent kart racing.

Thomas Nepveu (SHR/FA Kart) had a much better day on Sunday after a loose jet ruined his day on Saturday forcing him to finish last in the Final.

He started the day taking pole in Qualifying and the backed that up with a win in the Prefinal.

In the Final he was hunted all race long by Gianluca Savaglio (Goodwood/Intrepid), who actually lead the first lap of the race until Nepveu passed him on lap two, and Saturday winner Jeremy Tallon (KMS/Birel). Tallon pressured Nepveu on the final lap entering corner five, but Savaglio was able to get a run on exit and take the second position allowing Nepveu to cruise to victory ahead of Savaglio and Tallon. Liam Rhodes (REM/Birel) finish in fourth ahead of Dale Curran (Goodwood/Intrepid), Justin Arseneau (PSL/CRG), William Michaud (PSL/CRG) and Anthony Sardelitti (Goodwood/Intrepid).

Round two of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship will be held at Goodwood Kartways near Stouffville, Ontario on June 27-29.
