Heartbreak for Gianfranco Mazzaferro (Ferrolati Corse/Zinardi) on the pace-lap of the Rotax Mini-Max final, as a broken throttle cable forced the young driver to the sidelines to watch his fellow classmates do battle.
When the green flag flew it was pre-final winner Joe Soranno (Karts & Parts/LH Kart) who got the jump, taking the early lead with Austin Riley (Intrepid North America/Praga) in tow. The front two were able to break away, while the remaining trio put together a great race for the final podium position.
Up front, Riley and Soranno traded the top spot throughout the 12-lap final, with Soranno making a brilliant last lap, last corner pass to prevail as the winner. Jacob Ewaniuk (Sportality/Intrepid) was able to able to hold off Roman DeAngelis (Kosmic) and Tyler McCullough (TonyKart) to take third.
