We are back to the province of Quebec for the next stop of our CKN Summer Tour. This time we are just north of Montreal for the third round of the Coupe du Quebec championship. Unfortunately we had to cancel last minute on round two of the Coupe, so we are excited to get back to Quebec and on track with the action.
The championship hits their halfway mark and the end of their solo rounds as the final two events for the series are double-header races with the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship.
SRA Karting always provides great racing with their European inspired race layout. Weather usually seems to play a factor into race weekends as well at SRA, but all signs do point for a dry Sunday or racing.
All eyes will be focused on the Briggs & Stratton Senior division this weekend. Mathieu Demers (PSL Moncton/CRG) scored a popular victory in round one but he currently trails round two winner Maxime Couturier (SC Performance/TonyKart) with Tommy Lemaire-Ouellet (PSL Karting/CRG) waiting in the wings. The class has provided excellent racing thus far and we expect even more at SRA with twenty-plus entries.
Other great races on tap this weekend include Rotax Senior; where Jesse Lazare and Christophe Paquet (PSL Karting/CRG) will extend their duel, Rotax Junior; where the Lupien brothers (SHR/FA Kart) will continue their assault on the class and in Micro-Max; as Patrick Woods-Toth (PSL Montreal/CRG) and Jeremy Tallon (KMS/Birel) will attempt to knock Thomas Nepveu (SHR/FA Kart) off the top of the podium. Mini-Max, DD2, DD2 Masters, Briggs Junior and Briggs Masters are also on track this weekend.
CKN will be trackside on Saturday afternoon and provide full coverage of Sunday’s racing action including social media updates, race reports and a photo gallery.
This weekends coverage on CKN is presented by KMS North America and the Jim Russell Karting Academy in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Lead by three-time Rotax Grand Finals Champion Ben Cooper, the Jim Russell Karting Academy helps prepare drivers of all ages and experience levels for every aspect of kart racing.
