As one of the highlight events on the European karting schedule, the Andrea Margutti Trophy is a race to pay tribute to late Andrea Margutti who passed away in 1989 and celebrated it’s 25th anniversary this year. The race has drawn racers from all motorsports disciplines, including F1 drivers, with many of them adding their names to the winners trophies making this race even more prestigious.
And today, Canadian Antonio Serravalle of Markham, Ontario added his name to the list of winners, as he overcame a very challenging race to take the victory in the 60cc MINI category.
It
was a great week for Serravalle who qualified fourth in 42-strong MINI division. In his two heat races, Serravalle was second and fourth, placing his Pserra Racing TonyKart on the front row for the PreFinal, where he was second.
In an exciting Final with many lead changes and a handful of drivers in contention, Serravalle secured the victory with a last lap pass on Dimitri Bogdanov of Russia.

Also competing this weekend was Montreal’s Kami Moreira-Laliberte in the KFJ class. He qualified 23rd out of 57, then drove three great heat races (5th, 5th and 8th) to rank ninth entering the Prefinal. Unfortunately Sunday wasn’t too kind as he was 16th in Prefinal and then 30th in Final.
