CKN Euro Report: Defrancesco Chasing KFJ European Championship This Weekend

The fourth and final round of the 2014 CIK European KFJ Championship hits the track this weekend at the famed PFI International Circuit in England.

Canadian Devlin Defrancesco has been busy preparing for the event as the driver who now resides in the United Kingdom is in the thick of a six-man championship hunt entering this weekends series finale.

DeFrancesco kicked off his European Championship pursuit with a SuperPole and a third place result in round one in Italy, then once again showed his speed with another SuperPole in Spain but had to fight from the rear in the Final, recovering to finish fifth. Defrancesco was unable to secure points in the third round in Sweden as some bad luck forced him to the sidelines early on in the Final.

With this weekends final race set to determine the European KFJ Champion, Defrancesco enters the weekend third in the championship, only seven points behind the leader, Englishman Enaam Ahmed. With a maximum of 35 points available this weekend, there is a chance that any of the top-six drivers could leave with the title, but Defrancesco plans to showcase his pure speed once again and attack right from SuperPole all the way to the Final aboard his Morsicani Racing TonyKart.

Canadian Kami Moreira-Laliberte is also competing this weekend in England as he is back with the BabyRace/TonyKart team.
