Champion Spark Plugs Brand Now Title Sponsor of ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships

Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Champion® Spark Plugs brand has stepped forward to support Canadian kart racing through title sponsorship of the ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships, which will be held Aug. 21-23, 2015, at the new Mosport Kartways track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ontario.

The Champion sponsorship includes support of winners who will make up “Team Canada” for the 2015 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, Nov. 8-14, 2015, in Portimão, Portugal. Champion also sponsors the regional Ontario Ron Fellows Karting Challenge.

“For more than 100 years, the Champion brand has been a world leader in spark plug technology and a valued partner to drivers and teams in virtually every popular grassroots and professional series,” said Michael Proud, director of marketing, North America, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “We are proud to bring the iconic Champion bow-tie logo and our leading edge ignition technologies to Canadian kart racing.”

“We are proud to be part of Champion’s motorsport heritage,” said Paul Cooke, vice president, ASN Canada FIA. “The brand’s support for the development of our grassroots racers is fantastic and will makes a huge difference in helping introduce these drivers to the world motorsport stage. The kart racing facility at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is one of the best in North America and a challenging track for our competitors from across Canada to showcase their emerging talent.”

“We are so excited to have the Champion ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships event here at our newly renovated facility, “said Daniel DiLeo, Mosport Kartways president. “We know that young drivers from across Canada are anticipating competing in the most important kart race in Canada”.
