CDN Karting Nationals: William Chayer takes the Micro Max Pole for Pre Finals

The Rotax Micro-Max class is doing a great job of providing some exciting action on track, even though there is only nine drivers taking part this weekend in Mont-Tremblant. Saturday featured two more heat races for the youngest class at the Nationals.

In heat #2, Thomas Simard (SRA Karting/Birel) was enjoying a comfortable lead over his competitors when a sudden mechanic failure forced him to the side of the track and out of the race. This allowed William Chayer (SRA Karting/Birel) to take advantage and score the heat race win ahead of Andres Phiippe De Alba (TonyKart), Matthew Barry (Intrepid), Sam Macri (TonyKart) and Matthew Latifi (Ferrolati Corse/CRG).

For heat #3, Simard utilized the battling of drivers behind him to pull away from the field and take the heat win, while Latifi bounced back to take second ahead of Chayer.

With the points tallied, Chayer will sit on the pole-position for Sunday’s Pre Final, with Birel teammate Simard beside him. Row two features Barry and Latifi, while row three is completed by De Alba and Macri.
