Since the first practice session on Wednesday, one name has stood out this far in Rotax Junior. Zachary Claman Demelo (ZCD/PSL/CRG) has driven in another timezone this week, and in todays official qualifying session, Demelo was able to post a time nearly four-tenths of a second quicker than second-place. Tommy Lamaire-Ouellet (SH Karting/TonyKart) was able to post the second quickest time, while a Birel trio of Olivier Bedard, Jeffrey Jeffrey Kingsley and Nicholas Dore rounded out the top-five. Aside from Demelo, only one-second separated second from twenty-first.
In the first race, it was once again all Demelo up front, however Lamaire-Ouellet was able to stick with Demelo, finishing only 0.787 seconds behind. Bedard and Kingsley managed to hold their position to the finish, while Tyler Kashak (Intrepid North America/Intrepid) jumped into the top-five at the finish.
