CASC Offers Opportunity to Get Your Car Racing License

The Canadian Automobile Sports Club is running it’s annual license school Saturday, May 7 — Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Shannonville Motorsports Park, Shannonville, ON

Successful participants that receive their Class B license are eligible to race in any grid that is run under the CASC sanctioning umbrella. This includes FF1600, GT Sprints (GT 1-5), GT Challenge, and Formula Libre to name just a few. The cost of the school is only $695. Registration is on motorsportreg.com.

Novice Licence Program:

This 2 day school is designed to provide graduates with the necessary technical skills to obtain a Class B (Novice) Regional Competition licence. The course of study will provide the on and off track skills necessary to participate in a Regional Race weekend. Candidates that submit the required licence application, medical form, annual waiver and proof of club affiliation will receive their licence at the end of the school on Sunday and may enter the BEMC Spring Trophy Races being held at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park May 14-15.

The course assumes a basic level of driving experience and skill. The Regional Chief Instructor, Ray Arlauskas, will contact every candidate directly to discuss your previous experience and expectations of the course.

Full information on the requirements for participating in the school are in the school information package available on the CASC-OR website, and many questions are answered in this package

Novice Racing Experience:

This one or two day course is designed for individuals that want to learn the basics of performance driving, but do not intend to apply for a Regional Competition Licence at the end of the course. The course is designed for persons with little or no performance driving experience.

Full information on the requirements for participating in the school are in the NRE information package available on the CASC-OR website – please have a look.

If you have any questions regarding the school, requirements, or how to get involved email CASC’s Regional Chief Instructor, Ray Arlauskas at raceinstructor@casc.on.ca.
