Culminating a season long effort to determine the drivers that will represent Team Canada at this years Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, five drivers were awarded invitations at the ASN Canadian National Karting Championships in Ontario to take part in the race this November in Portugal.
With only one ticket available for Canadian drivers this season, the winners needed to be at the top of their game in both the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship and the Canadian National Championships in order to win. In addition, Team Canada had two tickets available for the Rotax DD2 category, awarding one to the ECKC champion and the one the Canadian Champion.
“First, I want to congratulate again all the competitors for the good racing. This year, Team Canada will have many new faces and this proves the Rotax MAX Challenge is open to every competitor. These drivers will now have the chance to export their skills at the international level and they will have to defend our crown as Nations’ Cup winner.
Only the United Kingdom has won that title two years in a row. Let’s reach them and, why not, be the first country to win it 3 years in a row!”
-Michel Boisclair, SRA Karting
