Canadian Champ Treadwell Bids Farewell to K&K Kart

In a decision referred to as one of the toughest in their karting lives, Jonathon and James Treadwell have confirmed to CKN that they have split their ties with K&K Kart and Kevin Barrick just as the 2016 season is about to begin.

For the past six years, the duo have helped develop the K&K Kart chassis from a bare beginning, all the way to a Canadian National Championship winning brand, securing the title in 2015 in the Briggs & Stratton LO206 Senior category.

Accomplishing all of the goals they set out for, the Treadwell’s are now looking forward to their next challenge, which will be confirmed shortly, and defending their Canadian National crown.

“The ups and downs of developing an out of the box winning four-cycle kart with Kevin Barrick has been a privilege. Kevin’s passion for the sport is as great as anyones. He would help his team, and even competitors, to levels that would surprise the public.”

“The last half a dozen years spent with Barrick has created more memorable moments then any other time during the 13 years the Treadwell family have been in karting and for that I sincerely thank Kevin.”

An announcement of what team and chassis Treadwell will compete on this season is coming with details just being finalized. Check out CKN this coming week to find out where Treadwell will land.
