It has been a relatively quiet off-season for the Ontario based Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship. But series organizers have slowly revealed information about their 2014 championship and we are delighted to share the news.
For now, the series has set four race dates on their schedule. They have also announced a new spec tire along with confirming that they series will only race four-cycle classes in 2014. With only four-cycle classes
on tap, the event format will now have official practice on Saturdays with racing on Sundays.
As per usual the series will kick off at 3S Go-Karts in Sutton on May 24-25. A new addition to the series will see round two at Goodwood Kartways, near Stouffville on June 21-22. Heading south to Canada’s tomato region, round three hits the track in Leamington at Point Pelee Karting on July 12-13. Finally, the series will close out with a double-header at Shannonville Motorsports Park, near Belleville for the annual Shannonville Bear Hunt. There is still some discussion about a possible fifth event.
After many years with MG Tires, the BSRKC will race on VEGA tires this season, utilizing the Vega Blue compound, a racer friendly tire.
Trimming things down and eliminating the two-cycle classes, BSRKC officials will offer eight official classes in 2014. Novice, Jr Lite, Jr Heavy, Sr Medium, and Masters will utilize the Honda power plant while there will be three classes aboard Briggs & Stratton LO206 engines: Jr Briggs, Sr Briggs and Briggs Masters. Host clubs will have the option to add support classes, while there is still the chance for two-cycle classes at the annual Shannonville Bear Hunt.
