Thanks to the support of his sponsors, specifically Lincoln Electric, Austin Riley is heading south to compete in the Florida Winter Tour.
The Racing With Autism driver is very excited to compete in his second Florida Winter Tour, with this year having the chance to compete in all three rounds.
Round one convenes this weekend at the famous Homestead-Miami Speedway in the very south of Florida. The event should see over 200 kart racers from around the world competing for victory in many classes. Austin will kick off his second season in Rotax Junior, and is back with Energy Kart Canada, now under control by Darren White.
Riley and the team are driving down to Florida and made a special stop in Indiana on the way. Taking a slight detour, the crew stopped at the paint shop of Polen Designs to visit Austin Polen, and surprise Austin with his brand new Bell Racing helmet painted by Polen Designs.
The stop was very special for both Austins, something Polen posted on his personal Instagram account, with the caption, “I live for moments like today. When I gave Austin his new helmet he was smiling from ear to ear. I could tell he was pretty pumped. Austin and his family stopped by to pick up is brand new helmet coming from Canada on their way to
Florida. Such a great day for me.”
Practice will begin on Wednesday for Riley, with Qualifying on tap for Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will see two complete race days of competition where Riley will be competing for victory.
