Successful kart racer Derek Michaud has officially formed his own race team and in 2014 will operate as DMR Motorsport. Setting up an association with SH Racing, DMR will race aboard FA Kart, a very popular brand under the OTK banner and will operate as the Ontario dealer for the brand.
“The FA Kart is part of one of the most successful and top selling kart brands in the world and I can’t wait to get on track in 2014 with our new DMR FA Karts,” explains Michaud when contacted by CKN.
The team will focus the their efforts on the regional scene at events of the Coupe du Quebec, Eastern Canadian Karting Championship, and Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship as well as the all important ASN Canadian National Karting Championships in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
“The season can’t come soon enough,” continued Michaud.
Supporting both four-cycle and two-cycle power plants, DMR Motorsport has packages and options for Rotax as well as Briggs & Stratton classes.
While the Canadian karting season won’t begin until April, the team is interested in participating down south at the Florida Winter Tour. If drivers are interested in racings Rotax and/or Briggs & Stratton at the FWT, they are urged to contact Michaud immediately.
