Trading in his usual Rotax Max Senior machine this summer as he pursues an engineering education, JF Lafontaine took some time out of his busy schedule to take on the Briggs & Stratton class at ICAR. It was a great choice as Lafontaine was able to qualify on the front row, and stay up front in the pre-final and then take control in the Final.
Holding off a charge by Shawn Dossantos, Lafontaine never surrendered the lead in the 14-lap final en route to victory.
Vincent Cyr held off a wild second pack as the front two checked out early. Battling with Alexandre Gauthier and Maxim Landry, Cyr was able to score the final podium position at the finish.
In Briggs & Stratton Junior, Sarah Mckart scored the victory ahead of Buddie Munn Junior and Dylan Brady.
