PR: JL Motorsports 2013 Season Wrap-Up

With the 2013 racing season coming to a close JL Motorsports had a very successful year.

The brothers Jordan and Zachery Latimer campaigned this year in karting in new rides.

Over the off season (last winter) Jason Latimer secured a deal with K&K Racing Karts North America and Team owner Kevin Barrick, which saw Jordan Latimer race a Team Kart in the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship racing series in the Jr. Briggs class. Zachery also raced a K&K Cobra at the club level in Jr. Lite.

Out of the gate this past spring, Jordan was a force, winning at NOKC, SKC, BSRKC and winning races in the ECKC events at Mosport and Mt. Tremblant.  Jordan held the points lead for most of the 2013 ECKC season and went on to win the 2013 Jr. Briggs title in the ECKC series.

Zachery Latimer raced at SKC and BSRKC this season and started out the season struggling, due to heath issues. He was sidelined for 6 weeks and missed the Flamboro BSRKC race, wrecking his hopes for another BSRKC title. He was cleared to go back racing and he went on a tear in the second half of the season at SKC with six second place finishes and two wins. Zachery had earned the most points of any driver this season in Jr. Lite at SKC but with the drops it forced a tie. Breaking the tie would then fall back on Wins and he would have to settle for second in the title hopes as Josh Conquer would win the eventful last race of the season giving him his third win of the year and the SKC Jr. Lite title.

Jordan with the help of his Dad, Mom and Brother Zach and Crew, Chris Lee, Josh Lee, Mike Whitney and Clarke Bursey made 4 starts this year in the NASCAR  Thunder Car class at Barrie Speedway. With some impressive results for a 14 year old kid, many were amazed. Special Thanks on this effort goes out to Kevin Reynolds, Terry Reynolds and Kyle Edgar for helping us get this going this year. Next Season Jordan will be competing for Rookie of the year in this division.

JL Motorsports would like to Thank all sponsors for making this possible for Jordan and Zachery to race this season.

Thank you to AC Electric, T & C Construction and Welding, Creechers Design, Jack Latimer, Sales Rep, Remax Orillia, Tax Smart and K&K Racing Karts North America.

Special thanks to Kevin and Keith Barrick, James, Jon and Lori Tredwell,  Jeff Riberdy, Kelly Michaud of KDM Racing, Jake Collison of Collison Racing and Rick Hurst and Diane Cunningham of Barrie Speedway. Without your help and support, none of this would be possible!

Jordan and Zachery look forward to the 2014 season with the first race possibly being in March at the Florida Winter tour.
