Ben Cooper continued his form from the opening round of the ECKC at Mosport by taking Pre Final and Final wins on Saturday after some superb fights on track with his old rival Pier Luc Ouellette. On Sunday Ben would come home in 2nd in both finals increasing his championship lead.
“It was a great weekend for me in the championship and also that there was some real entertaining races with Pier Luc. I’m really looking forward to the next round at Petite Monaco.”
In Briggs Senior Wally Pollo would make some excellent progress over the weekend in his first race with the team. He would go on to finish 10th in Saturdays final but Sunday would see him have a difficult Pre Final with a mechanical failure and then a tough final to finish 16th.
In Junior Rotax Antoni Ptak and Nataël Cantain would put in a great showing to finish top 10 all weekend long. Antoni would have a great race on Saturday to finish on the podium in 3rd. Nataël would go on to finish 7th on Saturday, but would improve dramatically to finish just outside the podium on Sunday in 4th. Antoni would go on to finish 8th on Sunday after a crash while leading the race early on.
In Micro Max William Chayer would drive the race on his career in the Final on Saturday. After a non-finish in the Pre Final William would have to start last in the Final. He made is way up to 2nd in what was an excellent race. Not only did he take the fastest lap, but also the lap record. On Sunday William would repeat his performance finishing 2nd again in the final after a great battle. A fantastic weekend for William on his 2nd outing with KMS North America.
“It was a very good weekend to take home two 2nd place finishes. I would like to thank my team KMS North America, my mechanic Luke Varley, my 2 coaches Zach Robichon and Ben Cooper and also my mum and dad.”
In Senior Rotax Olivier Bedard and Bryce Choquer would show great pace all weekend. On Saturday Bryce and Oliver would have a solid day with Oli finishing 4th in the final and Bryce also finishing I the top 10. Sunday would start off great for Olivier taking pole position and winning the Pre Final on the final lap. Bryce on the other hand had a difficult start with a problem in qualifying meaning that he would have to start from the back of the grid. Bryce would go on to finish 14th in the Final. Olivier would have a tough final however with a chain failure early on in the race, but would recover to take fastest lap of the race, which goes to show his great potential.
