PR: Team Koene USA Drivers Prepare for Busy Couple of Weeks

With the heart North America’s karting season upon us, Team Koene USA is preparing for a few busy weeks of competition. With the fourth event weekend of the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup and the annual Rotax Summer Shootout the following weekend, several hundred miles will be travelled by the team in the hopes of challenging for race wins and podium results across the eastern half of the United States.

First on the docket, Team Koene USA will travel three hours north to the Jet Karting facility of MRP near South Bend, Indiana to take in WKA Man Cup action. With Canadian Roman Deangelis as well as Michael and Nicholas d’Orlando set to compete, the trio of competitors will see action in both Cadet Sportsman and Yamaha Sportsman divisions on both Saturday and Sunday.

“The WKA program provides for some great racing action and the competition in the Sportsman classes is very tight,” expressed Koene USA Team Principal Mike Maurini. “Challenging for race wins and podium results is a goal of ours, but teaching our drivers race craft and proper feedback for future success is something else that we work on throughout any given race weekend.”

When the event concludes Sunday evening, Team Koene USA will begin their trek south to the newly named GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina to compete in the annual Rotax Summer Shootout. While Deangelis will head back to Canada to compete in a regional event, the d’Orlando duo will hit the track Thursday morning for testing before wheel-to-wheel action commences Saturday morning.

Maurini continued, “Martijn Koene will be coming over from Holland to assist at both events. His knowledge and experience is second to none and he is a great help to the entire Koene USA program. Together we make a great team and our success has proven that in the first sixth months of the team’s existence.”

Koene USA will also continue to provide their trackside support and sales program at the Jet Karting and Mooresville Motorplex facilities. Competitors looking for OTK, Tony Kart, Bridgestone, Mojo, Rotax and Alpinestars products can stop by the www.KoeneUSA.com sprinter van to get their supplies and receive assistance with their chassis and engine related questions.
