The Monaco of Trois-Rivières adds extra day to event schedule

After having made the changes to adapt the race circuit, with the goal of receiving top class competition in 2011, not even a year has passed and we have the pleasure to present two championships for the 14^th edition of the Monaco of Trois-Rivières.

On Saturday 28th July we will be holding the 6th race for the Québec Cup and on Sunday 29^th July we will be holding the Grand Final Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. These grand events will be held over four days instead of three, from 26^th July to 29^th July with the presence of Pier-Luc Ouellette, World Champion in class Rotax DD2.

There are more than 250 drivers from across the world, expected to take their place on the circuit in Trois-Rivières that has been greatly improved for the occasion.  These improvements are a result of the Eastern Canadian Championship’s promotional efforts in advertising this event to the world’s best drivers.   For this final event, the stakes are high, as the champion in each category will earn a ticket to the Rotax World Finals held in Portimao, Portugual this coming November..

To ensure the highest level of competition at the 14^th Edition of the Monaco, the organising committee has decided to extend the event.  François Bellemare, President of the Executive mentions, “We wish to give everyone a show this year and allow the spectators to take full advantage of the event. Four days is not too much because we’re hosting the Final Championship!”

The presence of Pier-Luc Ouellette will also be a major element this year. Pierre Simard, Director of events says that “The presence of the World champion in DD2 gives an insight into the level of competition this year. It’s going to be spectacular to watch the drivers of such high quality line up on the track. It promises to be a year to remember!”

Some words about Pier-Luc Ouellette
Was put on a Kart at the age of 10, Pier-Luc Ouellette tasted victory in his first year. Finishing second in the Championship of Québec the following year, Pier-Luc obtained his first major win in 2001 at the Junior Championships at Montreal and second place behind champion Andrew Ranger.

In 2002, he moved into the Senior category and continued his winning streak by dominating the Rotax class at the Quebec and Montreal Cup. In 2006, Ouellette received his first National Canadian Championship by winning the title in the two speed class, Rotax DD2.

A first World title was acquired in 2007 at Al Ain in, United Arab Emirates. In 2008, he was the runner up to the World Champion in Italy. In 2011, he won the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship, was the Canadian national Champion and won for a second time the title of World Champion.

The organising committee presents the complete programme for the 14th edition in the next few months. Remember that the event takes place the 26^th, 27^th, 28^th and the 29^th July at the Exposition Park where we’re ready to welcome 15,000 spectators. The entry to the site is free.
