PR: Superkarts! USA Announces 2013 Pro Tour and California ProKart Challenge dates

With the final stage of the 2012 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour series just around the corner – SuperNationals XVI on November 14-18 in Las Vegas, Nevada – the schedule for next year’s national series has now been confirmed. As the final plans are coming together to welcome another record-breaking number of drivers to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for this year’s SuperNats, the SKUSA staff has been working overtime to ensure that they can give the teams and drivers the chance to prepare for the upcoming season as well. The first step in the process is the announcement of the Pro Tour dates for 2013.  Superkarts! USA is pleased to be able to release the confirmed schedule for the 2013 Pro Tour:

Superkarts! USA Pro Tour 2013 Schedule

SpringNationals – April 12-14

SummerNationals – July 19-21

SuperNationals – November 20-24

The past three seasons have seen a growth at each and every event on the Pro Tour calendar, and 2013 should be no different. The SKUSA SpringNationals will be scheduled in April once again, moved up one weekend from 2012, staying off the Easter weekend and working around other events that are taking place during the month. The SKUSA SummerNationals remains on the same weekend as it has for the past three seasons, right in the middle of July. The SKUSA SuperNationals, which will be held for the 17th straight year in Las Vegas, is situated the week directly before Thanksgiving falling on November 20-24 in 2013.

“I’m happy to have our plans for 2013 coming together so quickly,” commented Superkarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher. “We’re busy here putting the final touches on SuperNationals XVI, which is going to be another kick-ass event that will be like no other, but I wanted to make sure our racers know well in advance our plans and goals for next season. 2013 will be our fourth season of the Pro Tour, and from all the feedback we’ve had, it’s going to continue to grow.  Our regional ProKart Challenge series across the U.S. are also looking good for next season, and we’re close to finalizing all of those schedules as well.  The benefits we’ve offered to drivers supporting our regions are huge, from the first shot at entering the SuperNationals to guaranteed SuperSunday starting positions. We just want to take care of our racers!”

The locations and prize package for the 2013 SKUSA Pro Tour will be announced in the coming weeks, but one constant remains – the ‘SKUSA Circle of Champions’ program. Those drivers who are crowned class champions this November in Las Vegas will enjoy a sponsored entry into the Pro Tour for next season. The champions who conquered the competition during the 2012 campaign will earn free entry, race tires, fuel and oil for next year’s SKUSA Pro Tour, sponsored by Superkarts! USA, and the same will be up from grabs for the 2013 title hopefuls.

Superkarts! USA is also happy to announce the tentative 2013 dates for the California ProKart Challenge. The California PKC has shifted its scheduling focus to work more closely with SoCal programs, like the Los Angeles Karting Championship (LAKC), and as a result, SKUSA is planning to move all but one of the PKC dates to the first Saturday of each month, beginning with the first round in February. As the series did in 2012, the California PKC will end the season with the fifth running of the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix.

Superkarts! USA California ProKart Challenge TENTATIVE 2013 Schedule

February 1-2: Round #1

March 1-2: Round #2

May 3-4: Round #3

May 31-June 1: Round #4

September 6-7: Round #5

TBA: Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix

“The California ProKart Challenge is the flagship of our regional program under SKUSA,” continued Kutscher. “It’s entering its ninth season, and serves as the top shifterkart and TaG series in the state. We’ve moved to the first Saturday of the month to establish a consistent schedule that our drivers and teams can build around. The other reason for the move involves working with other programs to avoid scheduling conflicts, such as Challenge of the Americas and the LAKC. As we get closer to 2013, we should be confirming the schedules for the other ProKart Challenge regional programs across the country, setting up yet another exciting year for Superkarts! USA.”
