After the 2012 Formula 1200 season is finished, AVR Motorsports will be beginning the search to fill their driving roster for the 2013 season. The test day will take place at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport) Driver Development Track on October 6th. This is a very technical, exciting track, and very suitable for a Formula 1200 car. The full fleet of AVR vehicles will be on hand for people to try out.
AVR Motorsports has had recent success over the current season, with Andrew Waring currently 5th in points, earning a podium finish in 7 of the past 8 races. Kevin Deevey is currently leading the Master’s class, attempting to defend his 2011 championship. Rookie drivers Reid Arnold and Andre Du Preez have both made dramatic improvements throughout the season. The final round of the F1200 season will take place at Mosport on September 29-30. If you do not have a driving suit, you may rent one for a nominal fee. Drivers are not required to have a racing license to attend the track day.
Schedule:
8:30am – Mandatory driver briefing session – will give the drivers a short lesson on the cars, track rules, scheduling, etc.
9:00am – 5:00pm – Cars on track, alternating between Formula 1200 and street cars
All drivers will be required to sign waivers prior to on-track activity.
Cost:
The cost of the event driving a Formula 1200 is $600+tax. The price includes:
• Fully race prepped Formula 1200 race car (photographed)
• Racing gear may be rented (extra $25)
• Guaranteed 4 on track sessions (2 with pace car, 2 without pace car)
• Driver briefing prior to on-track activity
• Mid-session debriefing and driver coaching
• Race team and series information provided by AVR throughout the day
Barbeque lunch will be provided, including a hamburger or hot dog, chips, and a beverage for $5 per person.
