PR: Defrancesco Racing Primed and ready for United States Grand Nationals

After crisscrossing the globe attending events in the United States, Canada and Europe, the DeFrancesco Racing (DFR) pilots of Devlin and Lachlan DeFrancesco will look to score United States National Championships at the annual Rotax Grand Nationals. Taking place at the Jet Karting of Michiana Raceway Park facility, the DeFrancesco duo, along with their new partners, Bernad Richards Manufacture (BRM Watches), Yogen Fruz and Yogurty’s, will enter the Rotax Mini Max class for the August 7-11 event.

Lachlan will enter the event as a small rookie in the class but big on experience. After moving from the Micro Max to the Mini Max division at the final round of the Florida Winter Tour, Lachlan has proven that he has what it takes to run at the front of the North American field. Traveling to and from Europe competing at the WSK Euro Series race in Italy at the famed La Conca facility, as well as in Ugento for the CSAI event, Lachlan enters the event as one of the youngest drivers in the class.

“This will be Lachlan’s first Rotax Grand Nationals,” expressed Team Manager and Driver Coach Nick Mitchell. “Though he will be one of the youngest drivers in the class, we feel that he can challenge for the win. He has shown growth since moving up to the Mini Max ranks and his driving in Europe has been impressive. We are looking forward to getting on track.”

Lachlan DeFrancesco added, “I am looking forward to my first Grand National experience. I like the track in Indiana and I will be doing my best to run at the front of the Rotax Mini Max field.

Older brother Devlin DeFrancesco enters the Rotax Grand Nationals as one of the favorites to take the Mini Max title. A threat for victory in each and every outing, the eldest of the DeFrancesco brothers stood atop the podium at Sunday’s Rotax Summer Shootout at the same facility just a few weeks ago and followed that up with a podium result at the Kart Stars Grand Prix of Toronto. Having not finished off the podium in his last three North American races, Devlin will look to add United States National Champion to his already impressive resume.

Mitchell continued, “Devlin has been a force in nearly every class, every series and every event in 2012. He challenged for championships at the Florida Winter Tour and race wins in Europe and has had some very impressive race results. Winning at the Rotax Summer Shootout is only a sign of things to come and we will work hard to ensure that Devlin is at the front of the field.”

Both Devlin and Lachlan will enter the event with continued support from French watch manufacturer Bernard Richards Manufacture (BRM). Looking to reward their support with race wins and championships, DeFrancesco Racing’s lead driver is up to the challenge.

“BRM has been a great supporter to my brother and I in only the first month of working together,” explained Devlin DeFrancesco. “I would like nothing more than to reward them with a national championship.”

Joining DeFrancesco Racing for the United States Rotax Grand Nationals and onwards in 2012 and 2013 will be Yogen Fruz and Yogurty’s. As a new partner in the program, the healthy snack company is getting in on the ground floor in the world of motorsports as they look to help drivers achieve their goals.

DeFrancesco added, “We are happy to have both Yogen Fruz and Yogurty’s join our program. They will be a great partner for the year’s to come.”
