Karting Team Completes 24hr Challenge at Goodwood

Continuing to try and raise funds to help send their driver to Australia, the team from Racing with Autism wanted to complete one more drive of the Canadian season. After pondering ideas and discussing opportunities, the gang along with Goodwood Kartways and the city of Uxbridge set out to complete a marathon 24hr mission.

The challenge was simple, have one kart continuously driving for 24 hours around the Goodwood Kartways track with one of the Racing with Autism team members driving.

Kicking off at 6PM on Thanksgiving Monday they kept their head down and didn’t let anything stop them from completing their challenge.  Mother Nature delivered rain and cold, but a second kart allowed the team to utilize rain tires and after powering through the night, a full day of driving awaited as they approached the 24 hour mark at 6PM Tuesday.

Running a total of 1515 laps around Goodwood in 24 hours the team raised $3942 along the way and are well on their way of covering the initial expenses of sending Austin to Australia, the home country of Austin’s personal aid, to continue the Racing with Autism Tour.
