Canadian National Ambitions for Maranello North America

With a fresh looking new tent and a focus on the Canadian Championships, Maranello North America is primed and ready for Canada’s most prestigious karting event of the season and they will have a full house of drivers to boot. Fifteen drivers spread over six classes will represent the Maranello brand at Mosport Kartways this week for the ASN Canada FIA Canadian National Karting Championships and they are all excited to hit the track.

“This is the largest the team has been since it’s inception and I’m very excited for our chances this week at Mosport,” exclaims Trevor Wickens, Team Manager and Owner of Maranello North America.

Leading the charge will be a full assault of the Rotax DD2 and DD2 Masters classes. Fred Woodley and Ethan Simioni welcome Brendon Bain back to the team for a one-off appearance in Rotax DD2, with all three having the power to stand atop of the podium. In DD2 Masters, Stuart Clark is looking to return to the top of the Canadian National podium along with his teammates Elvis Stojko and Pascal Garceau. All six drivers will also be seeking the chance to join Team Canada for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals with victory confirming their invitation to the ‘Olympics of Karting’.

The trio of Rotax Junior drivers are back as Justin Luik, Nico Siebert and Jason Shewchuk are looking to build their experience levels and continue their advancement up the grid in the very challenging Junior category.

Rounding out the two-cycle drivers under the team tent, Liam Rhodes will tackle the Mini-Max category with an eye on the podium.

Five drivers will represent Maranello Kart in the popular Briggs & Stratton classes including the teams newest member Mackenzie Clark, son of Stuart Clark. Mackenzie along with Jacob Ross and Jordan Prior will compete in Briggs & Stratton LO206 Junior while Ryan Kimber and Hunter Gibson will tango in what should be the largest class of the weekend, Briggs & Stratton LO206 Senior.

“Testing has gone well and the Champion Ron Fellows Challenge race was a great tuneup for many of our drivers. We are ready,” continued Wickens.
