With the month of August quickly approaching, Mosport Kartways has been busy preparing for their busiest month of the year. With MIKA Club Racing, two rounds of the Champion Ron Fellows Karting Challenge and of course the coveted ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships all scheduled within the month, Mosport Kartways will feel like a second home to karters and their families.
“The pieces continue to fall in place,” explained Track Manager Chris Lemme. “Our inaugural season has exceeded my expectations. The ECKC event was great and the action on-track was nothing short of spectacular. The month of August has been circled on my calendar from the moment I joined the Mosport Team and looking back there is probably no better way to kick off the month than with this weekend’s Summer Fest!”
Summer Fest, an annual Special Event Double Header that many have considered a ‘must-do’ for years is sure to draw big fields. Racing action on Saturday will see karters do battle as MIKA Race 7 rolls around and then we do it all over again on Sunday with perhaps higher stakes as round two of the Champion Ron Fellows Karting Challenge comes to town. With the first round of the CRFKC earlier in May establishing itself as the biggest kart race in the country thus far in 2015, many are speculating Round Two to exceed those record figures.
The CRFKC Championship; a four round, no drop format has confirmed the following prize package:
• VEGA(2 Sets of Tires) – Each race, two sets of Vega tires will be randomly drawn. One draw will include ALL four cycle Junior participants and the other will include ALL four cycle Senior Participants.
• BRIGGS AND STRATTON (Engine Raffle) – Each race, one Briggs LO206 will be randomly drawn. The draw will include all Briggs and Stratton participants.
• BRIGGS AND STRATTON (8 Entry Fees to next CRFKC Event) – Two “pills” will be drawn at random from each of the Briggs and Stratton classes and each racer will receive entry to the next CRFKC event.
• RON FELLOWS (5 Entry Fees to ASN Canada FIA Canadian Championships) – Championship leaders at the conclusion of the first 3 Rounds of the CRFKC will be awarded Entry Fees to the National Championships at Mosport Kartways. This prize package includes practice fees, paddock fees and Race Entry Fees for Championship leaders in Micro Max, Mini-Max, Rotax Junior, Rotax Senior and Rotax DD2.
Both races this weekend will utilize the Full Track (National Configuration) as many look to use these events to fine tune their National set-ups. Practice is available this Friday from 12pm-7pm.
